History of St. Fergal's National School

In the early 1970's, St Fergal's Junior National School was set up for the education of the young children in the fledgling community of Ballywaltrim, Bray. Mrs A. Meaney, the Principal along with Mrs. M. Gillespie, the Vice Principal, began taking classes in the Parochial Hall rooms in Queen of Peace Church. The following year they moved to the Parish Hall in Ballywaltrim, which acted as a temporary space for both the school and the church until their building works were completed. In 1977, the Junior School moved to the current school location. In 1979, the Senior School began operating under the Principalship of Mr. D. O Sullivan. Both schools continued to flourish and grow and have required some changes to the buildings throughout the years since then.

In June 2015, the Junior and Senior Schools ceased to exist and in September 2015, we opened our doors as St. Fergal's National School. We still operate across both buildings under our Principal, Mr. T. Sargent.
