Well done to the three 3rd classes for a super event!
Well done to the Children in Mr Creamer's, Ms Clarke's and Ms Roche's classes. We had great fun testing out the smell, rocket launching, circuit building and lava lamp stations among all the others that took place in the Junior building hall. Look below to see some of the junior scientists in action!
Today we visited the Science Room accompanied by visitor from the Heritage Council Grace Guard. We sowed many seeds including. "Morning glory, sweet pea, cress, carrots and much more! We also prepared some vegetables to sow in the raised beds in our yard so we will have lots of vegetables to harvest in Autumn Time!
Today was World Book Day. It was a great day. The children made a huge effort to dress up as various characters from their favourite books. There were lots of genres of books discussed such as story books, factual books, annuals and comics. We talked about the characters in stories and what some of our favourite stories were. Some of the older classes did paired reading with the younger classes and each class took part in DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) for some time. The younger classes had an assembly to show off all their costumes. Don't the children look wonderful!?!
These are children in Ms Roche's Third Class all dressed up in their costumes.

Toss a pancake
Catch it if you can
We had lots of toppings to choose from.
While we were waiting to get our pancakes we did a colouring competition and listened to an audio story called Mama Panya's Pancakes.
Everyone was delighted with their pancakes!
We gobbled them up super quick!
The whole school took part in the Operation Transformation '10 at 10' initiative. At 10am everyone did 10minutes of physical activity.
A huge well done to Ms Brady and her second class who organised the event and demonstrated the Macarena dance for everyone to follow. There were more exercise going on in the senior yard for the older children too!
Check out this week's Bray People to check out some brilliant photos of the morning!
Parents from St. Fergal's, St Kilian's, St Peter's and Ravenswell visited UCD on the 17/02/17
We were given a fantastic tour of the grounds and the state of the art facilities, getting to see the largest lecture hall in Ireland, the 50 metre swimming pool, the cinema and we got to hear about how children and mature students can access UCD and apply to study there.
Aine, our guide, told us about the HEAR access programme for students from a disadvantaged background. The DEAR access programme for students with disabilities along with more information on the SUSI grant system and Scholarships available.
2nd class enjoying their well deserved Friday Golden Time!
When we work hard all week. We choose a fun activity on Friday!
3rd class have been working very hard on their tables at home and in school. We are playing multiplication and division games in pairs and small groups every morning.
We love board games, Kaboom and Multiples Bingo, but our favourite game is Team Challenge!
We also made multiplication 'fortune tellers' for our 3x tables. We like using them to play with our friends while learning our tables. They were tricky to make, so a big than you to the boys and girls who helped us to do it!
