Read moreMs Smyth’s 4th class in collaboration with Ms Thorp’s 1st class created our school community notice board which is located just outside the principal’s office. We had great fun creating our funny staff portraits especially Ms Smyth’s…!!! We are very proud of all our hard work and we hope you like them too.
Aisling worked with both our 4th classes today to share some interesting ideas and tastes of healthy food.
Taste is 90% based on smell- these two 4th class pupils helped Aisling experiment to see if they could tell the difference between the taste of an apple and an onion while they kept their eyes shut and held their nose to avoid smelling the food.
Results: The two pupils confirmed it took them a few seconds to figure out if the food they were tasting was the Apple or the onion.
The children in Junior Infants have had a brilliant few weeks playing our Maths for Fun games in their classrooms with our Parent Volunteers.
A huge thanks to our volunteers who helped make this possible!

Ms Egan's class learned about how to cross the road safely in January
Having loads of fun in our local Ballywaltrim Library and taking some time out to read with our friends
On Wednesday, Ms. Kelly’s 3rd class boarded a bus for Cabinteely House. Before getting started on our creative writing workshop, we were given a tour of the house and listened to a story of the supernatural from one of the helpers.
The children wrote a great story with the help of writers and illustrators. After a quick break and taking in the beautiful scenery, the children headed back to the workshop to get final approval for their story from their editor!
We had a great day out!
What an amazing January we have had. We have been focusing on healthy food, healthy mind (through yoga and mindfulness) and a healthy, active body. We’ve absolutely loved it!!
Today 4th class busted some serious moves on the dance floor with Sly. Great fun was had by all!!!
Thankyou Eleanor and Gillian for your wonderful presentations on Irish bugs, bats , mammals and habitats.
Well done to all who met at the bandstand at Bray beach for the above walk! Thanks to Ruth , Conor, Mary and Jason for the great leadership.
January is be well month in our school. Nutrition is our topic for this week.
Children from Ms Brady’s Second Class surveyed 14 classes last week about their favourite fruit , drink and sport. Below some of these children present their findings at assembly.
We found out that apples, water and swimming are our favourites with baton twirling, pears and diluted drinks among our least favourites.
Next week we will focus on yoga and mindfulness with Ms Cawley.
Many thanks to Dermot O'Brien who gave a special, very interactive, talk to the 6th classes here about how to use the internet in a safer manner.
